[서울신문 나우뉴스]최근 인도와 태국 등지에서 대규모 무장테러가 발생해 충격을 주고 있는 가운데 영국의 한 언론이 '세계에서 가장 위험한 곳 20'(20 of the world's most dangerous places)을 선정했다.

일간지 '텔레그래프'가 영국 외무부의 통계와 자료를 인용해 발표한 '세계에서 가장 위험한 곳 20' 명단에는 위험이 도사리고 있는 이라크, 아프가니스탄 등 일부 중동국가 외에도 다수 아프리카 국가들의 이름이 올랐다.


이중에는 무차별 테러가 난무하는 수단(Sudan)과 에리트레아(Eritrea)등이 포함돼 있다. 텔레그래프는 "에디오피아와 인접한 에리트레아 국경은 언제나 테러 위협에 시달리고 있다."면서 "이 곳은 테러리즘의 근원지라 할 수 있다."고 전했다.

북아메리카의 멕시코도 리스트에 오르는 불명예를 안았다. 언론은 "멕시코는 테러리스트들로부터의 위험은 적지만 길거리 범죄율을 높은 국가"라면서 "더욱 문제인 것은 길거리 범죄율이 점차 증가하고 있다는 것"이라고 영국 외무부의 말을 인용했다.
