넓은 시각에서 바라볼 때, 그 끝을 알 수 없는 무한한 우주이지만 그 안에 공존하고 있는 모든 다양한 생명체와 무수히 많은 별들은 하나의 통일된 세계를 이루는 초우주적인 공동체의 구성원이다.









4. 분리와 대립을 넘어서







지구 역사시대의 큰 흐름을 살펴볼 때 인간과 국가 사회의 관계는 지배와 피지배, 전쟁과 정복의 반복으로 이어져 왔다. 정복자로서 큰 흔적을 남겼던 인물들을 기억해 본다면, 마케도니아의 알렉산더, 로마의 시저, 중국 진(秦)의 시황제, 몽고의 징기스칸, 프랑스의 나폴레온 등 동, 서양을 막론하고 무수히 많은 나라들이 건국과 패망을 반복하며 끝도 없는 전쟁으로 삶과 죽음의 갈림길을 넘어왔다. 강자는 약자를 힘으로 정복하여 굴복시키고, 패배한 집단은 노예로 전락하거나, 생명과 재산을 빼앗기면서 굴욕적인 지배를 받아왔다.







5-6000년의 역사시대를 통해 힘은 정의요 법이 되었고, 약한 자들은 생명과 재산을 빼앗기고 노예와 같은 삶을 살지 않으면 안 되었고, 이것은 아직 끝나지 않았다. 또한 이러한 관계는 국가나 사회간의 관계에서만이 아니라, 한 국가와 사회 내부에서의 개개의 구성원 사이의 관계에서도 작용하여온 관계의 법칙이었던 것이다.









20세기에 들어와서도 인류는 2번에 걸친 세계대전을 치렀으며, 우리 대한민국도 식민지 개척시대의 피해 당사자로 일본 제국주의의 침략을 받아, 36년 동안이나 나라 없는 민족으로 많은 고초를 겪었다. 2차 세계대전 후에도 우리 민족은 6.25라는 민족상잔의 처참한 전쟁을 겪었으며, 이어서 60년대에는 월남전으로 또 지금은 미국의 이라크 침공으로 세계는 피비린내 나는 전쟁을 쉬지 않고 계속하고 있다. 참으로 지구의 역사는 전쟁의 역사라고 보아야 할 것이다. 하기야 우리의 우주에서도 수 백 만년 이상 지속된 별들 간의 전쟁을 통해 하나의 행성이 파괴되어 사라지거나, 생물이 살 수 없는 폐허로 변하기도 했었으니, 지구에서 계속된 전쟁은 전혀 이상한 일이 아닌 것 같다.









정말 지겹도록 싸웠다.… 이젠 서로가 죽이고 죽는 싸움을 그만 끝내자! 이 우주가 빛과 어둠으로 나뉘어 수 백 만년을 서로 싸워 온 것은 오로지 조건 없는 무한한 사랑인 신들이 물질우주를 창조하면서, 사랑이 아닌 것을 체험하므로 신의 본성인 사랑이 무엇인가를 체험적으로 알기 위해서 스스로 창조한 게임인 것을 이제 알았고, 이제 이 시대 다수 인류가 영혼 차원에서 평화와 참된 사랑을 선택하므로, 이제 영겁을 계속하여 온 사랑과 두려움의 이원적 게임을 끝내야 할 마지막 시간에 도달했다.



이제는 서로가 굳게 잡고 있었던 총과 칼을 함께 내려놓고, 우리 모두가 지고한 창조주 아버지, 어머니 신의 지극한 사랑 속에 존재하는 귀한 아들과 딸들이라는 것을 알고 서로를 존중하며 사랑 가운데에서 한 형제, 자매임을 기억하자.









나의 기쁨을 위해서, 나의 욕망을 위해서 이웃을 울리고 아프게 하는 것은 결코 진정한 나의 기쁨과 평화가 되지 않는다. 왼 손이 아플 때 오른 손이 평화로울 수 없는 것인데, 우리는 심각한 착각과 기억상실 속에서 살아왔다. 그러나 그것은 우리가 스스로 계획하고 선택했던 체험이었다. 그 게임은 지금 이 시대에 성공적으로 완료되었고, 그 결과로 존재하는 모든 것인 이 우주는 새로운 차원으로 도약하고 있다.







아직 게임의 환상 속에서, 두려움과 기억상실 속에서 게임을 계속하는 많은 형제, 자매들이 있으나. 그들도 곧 환상과 망각 속에서 깨어날 것이고, 그들을 깨우는 것은 먼저 잠에서 깨어난 이들의 지극한 사랑과 연민의 빛이다. 두려움과 분노와 원망은 지금까지의 환상을 계속 반복하게 한다. 진정한 자각과 무한히 큰 사랑과 연민의 눈으로 두려움 속에 떨고 있는 형제, 자매들의 눈을 마주 바라볼 때, 그들은 비로소 무엇이 진실이고 자신이 누구인지 기억할 것이다.







당신의 가족 중에 누군가가 자신이 누구였는지를 망각하고 당신에게 칼을 빼어 들었을 때, 당신은 같이 칼을 빼어들고 그를 찌르겠는가?! 예수는 십자가 위에서 자신을 죽이는 자들을 바라보면서 이렇게 외쳤다. “아버지여 저들을 용서하소서! 저들은 지금 자신이 하고 있는 일이 무엇인지 알지 못합니다!” 이것이 자신이 누구인지 알았던, 자신의 형제들을 깊은 잠에서 깨우기 위해 2000년 전 이 땅을 걸었던 한 어머니의 아들이었으며 위대한 스승이었던 이의 마지막 가르침이었던 것이다.











의식의 전환









의(依), 식(食), 주(住)는 인간으로 살아가는데 있어서 가장 기본적으로 충족되어야 할 3대 조건이다. 입을 옷, 먹을 음식, 잠자고 쉴 집, 이 세 가지 필요한 조건을 충족시키기 위해서 대부분의 인간은 평생을 일과 씨름하며 산다. 사회적 조건이 각박하고, 주변의 모든 사람이 그렇게 살고 있으니 나도 당연히 그렇게 살아야 된다고 생각한다. 그러나 자칭 만물의 영장이라는 사람이 단지 생존을 위해 거의 대부분의 삶을 투자해야 한다는 것은 재고해 보아야 할 일이 아닐까?







오늘날 자본주의가 가장 이상적인 사회인 것으로 공인되는 분위기인데, 자본주의사회에서 제 1로 치는 가치는 물질적인 풍요, 한마디로 돈이라 할 수 있다. 돈을 벌기 위해 모든 사람이 엄청난 노력과 시간을 투입한다. 그 이유는 돈이 있어야 우선 내가 살 수 있고, 돈이 인생의 성공 여부를 가름하는 기준이 되고, 행복과 기쁨을 얻기 위한 전제 조건이라고 생각하기 때문인데. 돈 만 바라보고 달리다 보니 같이 뛰고 있는 모든 사람이 경쟁자가 되어 결국엔 자신이 왜 뛰고 있는지도 잊어버리고, 오로지 남보다 더 나은 물질적 풍요를 위해 끝이 없는 마라톤 경쟁을 하게 된다.







그러나 돈보다 더 중요한 것이 건강이고, 마음의 평화와 행복이다. 돈이 자신이 원하는 것을 이루는데 필요한 한가지의 조건인 것은 사실이나, 제 1의, 그리고 절대적인 조건은 되지 않는다. 오히려 행복은 개개인의 내면의 마음상태에 따라 좌우된다. 우리가 주변에서 큰 명예나 물질적인 풍요를 가지고 있음에도 스스로 세상을 떠나거나 힘들게 사는 이들을 바라볼 때 이것이 진실임을 알 수 있다.









내가 이 책을 쓰게 된 이유와 목적은 이러하다.









하나는 내가 누구인지?!에 대한 앎을 가지게 된 데서 얻어진 기쁨과 감사를 모든 사람들과 함께 나누기 위한 것이며, 다른 하나는 대부분의 이웃, 가족이 너무나 힘들게 삶을 엮어나가는 것이 안타까워 가능한 범위에서 도움을 주려는 목적 때문이다.









옛 일화에 이런 이야기가 있다. 당대의 대 정복자인 알렉산더 대왕이 이름난 철인인 디오게네스에게 소원이 있으면 말해보라고 했을 때 디오게네스는 이렇게 말했다. “ 당신이 지금 가리고 있는 햇볕을 쪼일 수 있도록 비켜 달라!” 알렉산더는 권력과 부를 얻기 위해 무수한 전쟁을 통해 대 제국을 일으킨 정복자였으나, 그 시대에 가장 지혜로운 이로 알려졌던 디오게네스는 따뜻한 햇볕을 원했을 뿐이었다.







누가 더 풍요로웠으며 행복했겠는가? 사람마다 꿈과 소원하는 것이 다르겠으나 위의 일화는 자기 현실에 만족할 줄 아는 자가 참으로 충만한 풍요를 누린다는 것을 보여준다고 생각된다. 나는 언젠가 과거의 많은 제왕들이 결코 부유하지는 못했었다고 생각한 적이 있었다. 왜냐하면 그들이 소유했던 땅과 궁전은 결코 큰 것이 아니었기 때문이었다.









만약 우리가 인식할 수 있는 지구별과 대우주를 만인이 공유하는 공동의 재산이라고 생각할 때, 그것은 전 인류가 공유하는 재산이면서 동시에 나의 것이 되는 것이다. 전 인류를 품어 안아주며 살아 숨쉬게 해주는 저 광대한 바다와 산과 들과 강과 하늘은 누구의 것인가?!







하늘이 내 것이라고 말하는 이를 보았는가? 태평양이 내 것이라고 주장하는 이를 본 적이 있는가?! 하기야 역사적으로 보면 많은 정복자들은 무수한 생명을 죽음으로 몰아가면서 자신의 영토를 넓혔으며, 그것을 내 것이라고 생각했다. 그러나 몇 년 이나 자신의 제국을 소유했었는가? 그리고 그것을 지키기 위해 죽는 순간까지 얼마나 노심초사 했겠는가?!







그야말로 그것은 50년, 100년도 지속되지 못했던 꿈이 아니었겠는가? 또한 그 욕망과 환상을 채우기 위해 흘렸던 피와 통곡소리는 얼마나 크고 많았겠는가?!









우리가 전 우주를, 존재하는 모든 것을 모두가 함께 공유하는 공동의 재산이라고 생각할 때, 실제로 인간적인 측면에서 필요한 것은 10평 내외의 비바람을 피할 수 있는 집이면 충분하다. 그리고 대자연을 나의 정원이며 거실이라고 생각하면, 10평 정도의 침실과 휴식공간으로 족한 것이다. 실제로 우리는 하루의 1/3정도를 10평이 안되는 침실에서 보내고 있지 않은가?!







이것을 말장난이라고 생각하는가? 그렇다! 말장난이라고 생각하는 이에게는 말장난임이 분명하다! 그러나 이것이 진실이라고 생각하는 이에게 이것은 명백한 현실이다! 그 뿐이다!







당신은 어떤 현실을 선택하겠는가?







2005년 3월 2일, KBS의 특집방송(환경스페셜 213 - ‘콘크리트, 생명을 위협하다’)에서 콘크리트로 지어진 주택에서 사는 사람들과 이른바 건강주택인 흙이나 나무로 지어진 집에서 사는 사람들의 평균 수명이 약 9년에서 10년 차이난다는. 일본의 시마네 대학의 나카오교수가 통계적으로 조사하여 발표했다는 내용의 방송을 우연히 보게 되었다. 이 9년이 넘는 차이는 지금 암의 치료법이 발견됐다고 보았을 때 평균수명이 약 3년 정도 연장된다고 보면 그 차이는 엄청나다는 것이다.









아마도 독자들께서는 근년에 들어 초고층의 주상복합건물이 이곳저곳에서 유행처럼 지어지고 있음을 아시리라 믿는다. 또한 서울 강남의 아파트 값은 한번 올랐다 하면 1억 정도는 보통이다. 1억이라면 월 200만원의 수입이 있는 사람이 월 50만원을 계속 저축한다고 보았을 때 약 17년간 모아야 할 금액이다. 또 항간에 많은 논란이 있었던 이야기인데, 건설업체가 아파트 건축비용명세표를 밝히는 문제에 대하여 많은 논란이 있었으나 결국 유야무야 덮고 넘어가고 말았다. 그러나 이런 문제들 이면에는 어떠한 사연들이 있겠는지?! 한번쯤 곰곰이 생각 해 보아야 하지 않겠는가?!









내가 보기에 이러한 문제는 현재 우리 사회가 안고 있는 심각한 문제점들의 일 단면이라고 생각되는데, 이것은 오로지 금전만능, 금전 제 1주의인 현대의 병폐에 그 원인이 있고, 현대를 살아가는 우리 모두가 스스로 지혜롭게 분별 할 필요가 있다고 생각한다.







한편으로 공영방송에서 이와 같은 보도를 한 것은, 그나마 우리 사회가 이제 정상적인 궤도로 선회하기 시작한 것을 보여주는 일면이라고 생각되어 높이 평가하고 싶다.









공동체 생활의 필요성











앞에서 필자는 10평 내외의 원룸형 주거로도 삶의 질을 충족시킬 수 있다는 생각을 밝힌 바 있다. 본인은 7-8년간 전원주택 시공사업을 했었던 경험에 비추어, 10평 정도의 목조주택형 주거공간을 건축하는 데는 중간 수준의 원자재를 사용할 경우 원자재 값은 약 1000만원 정도 소요되며, 기술자 한사람과 조공 한사람이 약 30일 이내에 시공 가능하다고 본다.







이것은 최저 비용으로 1500만원 정도(대지 구입비는 별도)로 기본적인 주거 공간을 마련할 수 있다는 이야기다. 이것은 물론 결혼한 부부가 생활하기에 적절한 규모라 볼 수 있겠지만, 아이가 생기거나 함께 살아야 할 가족이 있을 경우는 6-7평 규모의 집을 추가로 지어 나가므로 해결할 수 있고, 이러한 구조의 주택은 가족 구성원의 프라이버시를 보호할 수 있다는 면에서 아마도 미래형 주거의 모델이 될 수 있다고 생각한다.









본인이 이러한 이야기를 하는 것은 모든 사람이 서로 경쟁적으로 크고 넓은 집을 가지기 위해 평생을 소모하는 현실이 불합리 하고, 자연과 더불어 살아가며 삶의 질을 높이기 위해서는 전 인류가 한 형제요 가족이라는 진실을 조금 먼저 자각한 이들이 서로 모여 공동체 마을을 이루고 사는 것이 필요하다는 생각 때문이다. 영적 각성을 촉진하고 새로운 세대에게 이상적인 교육을 시키기 위해서는 부모가 먼저 지혜로워져야 하며, 조금 먼저 깨어난 이들이 함께 어울려 서로 돕고 살 때 우리의 삶의 방식은 빠른 속도로 개선되어 지리라 믿는다.







이러한 관점에서 본인은 조속히 그러한 공동체 마을이 여러 곳에서 이루어지기를 바라며, 동시에 적극적으로 실천 할 생각이다.











지구의 평화와 화합을 위한 노력









지금 내가 꿈꾸는 일 중의 하나가 지구가 하나의 공동체이며, 인류가 한 가족임을 확인하고 선언하는 세계일주 여행이다. 여행은 내가 개인적으로 좋아하는 취미 중의 하나인데, 발단은 나의 개인적인 세계일주 여행에서 시작하였으나, 최근에 이르러 아직까지도 민족과 종교와 인종적 갈등으로 인해 전쟁이라는 비극적 현실의 암흑에서 헤매는 인류를 사랑과 평화의 세계로 이끌고, 전 인류가 지구라는 한 행성을 고향으로 가진 너무나 가까운 하나의 가족이라는 것을 이해하고 인식하게 하여, 곧 이어 전개될 다른 별과 우주에서 살고 있는 같은 조상과 근원을 가지고 있는 휴머노이드 문명들과, 또 다른 근원을 가진 많은 지적 생명체들과의 평화적 교류를 준비하는 세계일주 여행을 하자는 쪽으로 업그레이드되었다.









넓은 시각에서 바라볼 때, 그 끝을 알 수 없는 무한한 우주이지만 그 안에 공존하고 있는 모든 다양한 생명체와 무수히 많은 별들은 하나의 통일된 세계를 이루는 초우주적인 공동체의 구성원이다.



우리의 의식을 각자가 생활하고 있는 하나의 별에만 제한시킬 경우는 다른 행성에 존재하는 다양한 생명체들이 나의 적이요 경쟁자로 인식되겠지만, 전 우주를 모든 생명체가 공유하는 세계요, 나와 다른 모습과 문화를 가진 존재들이 이 우주라는 화원을 더욱 아름답게 만드는 다양한 우주의 꽃들이라는 관점에서 이해한다면, 우리와 그들 모두가 함께 이루어 낸 이 우주는 너무나 아름답고 거대한 축복인 것이다.







실제로 이 우주는 수 천 만년이 넘는 기간동안 두려움과 타 세계를 나의 경쟁자요 적으로 보는 제한된 의식에 의해 수많은 우주전쟁으로 얼룩져 왔다. 그리고 그것은 오로지 사랑과 빛인 최고의 창조주가 자신이 아닌 것을 통하여 자신의 본성을 체험적으로 알기 위해 스스로 창조했던 진화와 성장을 위한 학습의 무대였던 것이다.







그러나 지금은 빛과 어둠이라는 이원성 게임의 대단원의 막을 내리고 의도적으로 시작했던 진화와 성장의 한 시기를 일단락 지을 때인 것이다. 영겁의 한 시기는 지구라는 별의 상승을 통해 매듭지어질 것으로 예정되었던 것이며, 이 시기에 지구에 태어난 모든 영혼들의 고귀한 노력과 봉사에 의해 그 거대한 계획의 성공적인 결실을 보게 되었다.







이러한 결과는 이미 영적인 차원에서 확정된 사실이며, 그에 따라 지구 외부의 전 우주와 베일 저편 천상의 모든 존재들이, 지구 인류를 망각상태에서 해방시키고, 다시 창조계 전체를 처음과 같이 조건 없는 사랑과 무한한 기쁨과 평화의 상태로 되돌리기 위해 혼신의 노력을 쏟아 붓고 있는 것이다.



그러나 우리에게 지금 시작되는 창조계는 예전과 같지 않다. 우리 지구 인류가 존재하는 모든 영혼들과 함께 이루어 낸 새로운 세계는 온갖 사랑이 아닌, 두려움과 분리와 대결의 과정을 뛰어 넘은 성숙된 새로운 창조계인 것이다.









이러한 현실에 대해 우리의 인간적인 의식은 ‘다음의 세계는 어떠한 방향으로 전개될 것인가?!’에 대해 생각할 것이다. 그러나 과거, 현재, 미래로 전개되는 시, 공의 의식세계에서 살아온 인류에게 당연히 떠오르는 이러한 의문은 특별한 상황 하에서 성립되는 의식체계인 것으로 생각된다. 우리가 많은 외부의 정보에서 얻었던 지식으로는 과거-현재-미래라는 직선적 시, 공의 세계는 우주적 게임을 위해 특별히 창조된 특수상황(물질우주)에서만 존재되는 것이다. 실제로 이 창조계는 과거-미래-현재가 동시에 존재하는 것이요, 신은 오직 지금이라는 이 순간에 존재하며, 그 지금은 무한한 사랑과 기쁨과 평화라는 것이다.







아직 제한된 의식 속에 존재하는 대다수의 인류에게 이것은 이해하기 어려운 진실이다. 지금의 나로서도 이러한 중요한 현실들에 대한 이해는 아직 지성과 가슴에서 일어나는 직관적 공명과 신뢰에 따라 얻어지는 확신일 뿐이다. 그러나 이러한 믿음과 이해는 ‘내가 누구인가?!’라는 의문을 가지기 시작한 후, 내가 걸어온 짧지 않은 30여년의 삶의 과정에서 얻어진 것들이며, 점차적으로 넓어지고 깊어진 이해들이다.









지금 내가 이 글을 쓰고 있는 이유는, 지금의 내 삶에 기쁨과 감사가 있고, 처음에 길 잃은 듯 공허했던 가슴이, 주변의 가득했던 안개가 점차 사라지면서 내 주변에 있던 꽃과 나무, 산과 들과 강이 선명하게 그 모습을 드러내듯이, 내 주변의 가족과 이웃들, 또한 무한히 광대한 우주가 나와 분리된 것이 아닌 나와 동일한 근원을 가진 하나의 세계 속에 존재하는 나 자신의 일부로 느껴지기에…. 이러한 나의 확장을 이야기 하므로 그 상황에서 얻어지는 이해와 명료성, 기쁨과 감사를 많은 이들과 함께 나누기 위한 것이다.









우리 인간은 무한한 시간과 공간의 세계를 보고 느낄 수 있기에, 100년도 되지 못하는 인생의 제한성으로 인해 큰 상실감과 죽음에 대한 의문과 두려움이 있는 것이며, 그 결과로서 많은 종교가 우리 삶의 중요한 한 부분을 이루게 된 것이다.







오늘날 지구의 주된 종교의 근원이 된 예수와 석가모니의 가르침을 살펴보면, 거기에는 죽음을 초월하는 영원한 생명에 대한 개념이 있다. 석가모니는 왕자로서의 부귀를 버리고 존재의 진실을 찾아 고행의 길을 걸었으며, 예수는 자신의 진실을 알리기 위해서 스스로 십자가 위에서 육신의 생명을 버렸으며 영원한 삶이 있다는 것을 행동으로 보여주었다.









여러분의 삶에 무엇인가 공허한 슬픔이 있다면, 안정된 경제적 풍요와 건강과 행복한 가정이 있음에도, 외로움과 가슴 속 깊은 곳에 알 수 없는 갈증이 있다면, 이제는 여러분이 살아오면서 보고 듣고 배웠던 곳이 아닌 다른 곳에서 진실을 찾아보기 바란다.







우리는 창조주의 단편이기에, 영원한 생명 속에 존재하는 영혼이기에, 자신의 본질을 알기 전까지는 어느 곳인지도 모르는 자신의 고향과 진정한 부모를 그리워하는 내면의 슬픔을 잊을 수가 없는 것이다.











진리의 문은 두드릴 때에 열린다.









다행스럽게도 지금은 너무나 많고 귀한 정보들이 도처에 있다. 인류역사상 최대의 발명품이라 할 수 있는 인터넷은 이미 우리 생활의 일부로 자리 잡았고, 1990년대 이후로는 우리가 정규 학교교육을 통해 접할 수 없었던 무수히 많은 정보들이 책을 통하여 전해졌다. 예전에는 우리가 관심을 가져도 알기 어려웠던 많은 진실들에 대해 이제는 너무나 많고 다양한 정보들이 주변에 흘러넘치고 있다.



지금 여러분이 생존을 위한 경제활동에 삶의 모든 에너지를 소모시키고 있다면 가능한 한 빨리 삶의 패턴에 변화를 구하기 바란다. 정규 학교교육과 종교, 매스컴을 통한 정보는 대체로 우리 사회의 권력과 부를 독점한 기득권층이 자신의 특권을 보호하고 유지하기 위한 도구로서 사용하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 만물의 영장이라는 인간이 단지 생존을 위한 의, 식, 주의 문제와 씨름하며 일생을 소모한다는 것이 적절하다고 생각되는가?!









생존을 위해 일하는 것은 과거 인류사에서 모든 노예의 삶을 살았던 이들의 생활방식이었다. 만약 당신이 지금 생존을 위한 일에 삶의 대부분을 소모하고 있다면 당신이 현대판 노예가 아니라고 이야기 할 수 있겠는가?!









세 가지 S라 하여 Sex, Sports, Speed를 현대문명의 특징적 일면이라고 이야기 하던 때가 있었으며 지금의 현실 역시 그것에서 크게 벗어나 있지 않다. Sex와 Sports에 현대의 다수 대중은 관심을 집중하도록 유도되었으며, 요즈음 많은 사람들이 관심을 가지고 바라보는 스포츠 세계에서 골프공, 야구공, 축구공을 잘 다루는 스포츠맨들은 수 백, 수 천 만 불의 연봉을 받고 있는 반면, 연간 수 백 만 명의 인류가 영양실조와 굶주림과 병으로 매년 목숨을 잃고 있다는 사실에서 무언가 크게 잘못된 것이 있다고 느껴지지 않는가?!







‘유전무죄(有錢無罪) 무전유죄(無錢有罪)’라는 우리 사회의 일면을 고발하는 용어가 있다. 아마도 이러한 용어가 우리 사회에서 일어나고 있는 현실 상황의 일면을 고발하는 진실이라는 것은 많은 사회경험을 가진 이들이 결코 부정할 수 없는 진실이라고 본인은 체험적으로 알 고 있다.









내가 기쁘고 행복하기 위해서는 이웃집에서 기쁨과 행복을 보여주는 웃음소리가 들려와야 한다! 소음이 시끄러운 곳에서 우리가 안정과 평화를 얻을 수 없듯이 이웃집에서 고통스러운 울음소리가 들려오는 한 나만의 기쁨과 평화는 잠깐 동안의 착각에 불과한 것일 뿐이다!







우리가 스스로 진실과 진리를 자각하여 지혜로운 앎을 얻기까지는, 진정한 기쁨과 행복은 항상 우리 미래의 언젠가에 있을 수밖에 없는 환상에 불과한 것이다.









‘네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라!’는 예수의 가르침을 신봉하는 교회의 십자가가 도시의 밤하늘을 가득히 밝히고 있음에도, 자비와 사랑을 가장 소중한 덕목으로 가르치는 종교가 우리 사회의 구서구석에서 번성하고 있음에도, 50년 100년 전에 비하여 의, 식 주를 풍요롭게 만드는 기계와 여러 유전공학적 기술이 수 백, 수 천 배의 생산성 향상을 가져왔음에도 대다수의 인류가 생존을 위한 활동에 목숨을 걸고 있는 현실이 이상하지 않은가?!









이제는 모든 인류가 스스로 심사숙고하여, 무엇이 진실인지?! 내가 누구인지?! 저 광대한 우주에는 어떤 세계가 있을 것인지 의문을 갖지 않으면 안 된다!







스스로 각성하기 전에는 노예와 같은 삶에서 벗어날 길이 없다! 기존의 제도권 교육에, 기존의 종교조직이 가르치는 진실에, 대중매체가 전해주는 진실에 모순된 점은 없는지?! 스스로 자문하고 그 답을 찾기 위해 노력해야 할 때이다.









우리가 찾고자 할 때 그 답을 줄 수 있는 정보들은 이미 충분히 공개되어 있다. 우리가 의문을 가질 수 있는 모든 문제들에 대한 답을 알려줄 정보가 이미 우리 현실 안에 자리 잡고 있다! 단지 문을 두드리기만 하면 그에 대한 답이 우리에게 주어질 수 있는 지점에 우리는 서 있다!







이제는 다른 이들이 전해주는 답에 의존하는 것을 끝내야 할 때다! 진실을 알려주는 스승의 역할을 하는 이들이 눈 뜬 장님이라면 그 뒤를 맹목적으로 따르는 이들은 언제라도 깊은 절벽 아래로 추락할 수 있는 것이다! 2000년 전 예수와 같이 지혜로운 선각자가 그렇게도 모든 것을 던져가며 가르침을 폈음에도, 그는 그 시대의 가장 유식했던 제사장과 율법학자들에 의해서 십자가에 매달려 죽임을 당했다. 지금은 그 때와 다르다고 당신은 확신할 수 있는가?









내 권리는 내가 스스로 찾아 소유해야 한다. 어느 누구도 당신의 권리를 찾아줄 것으로 기대하면 안 된다! 오늘날과 같이 치열한 경쟁이 전개되는 세상에서 당신은 당신의 삶을 타인에게 믿고 맡기려는가?! 힘이 곧 법인 지금 이때에? 자신의 주장과 이익을 위해 수 십 만 ,수 백 만의 생명을 손바닥 뒤집듯 뺏어버리는 시대에?!









나는 지금 인류가 지구라는 고향별에서 함께 살아가는 한 가족이라는 것을 알리고 선언하기 위한 세계일주 여행을 꿈꾼다. 민족과 국가와 종교와 인종의 담을 허물어 버리고, 있지도 않은 지도상의 경계를 사이로 하여 총과 칼로 무장하고 서로 경계하고 있는 인류의 환상을 지워버리기 위한 목적으로….







또한 이 우주에는 우리와 같은 유전인자를 공유한 또 다른 우리의 인류 가족이 무한히 많으며, 그 모습을 달리할 뿐 하나의 근원을 가지고 존재하는 외계의 문명들과도 모두가 하나인 우주 공동체의 구성원임을 이해하고 교류를 시작해야 한다는 진실을 가지고….







마지막으로 지구에 남은 분단국가의 일원으로, 또 지고한 창조주의 분신인 한 영혼으로 아직 망각 속에 잠들어 있는 많은 형제, 자매들을 만나고 그들의 두 눈 속에서 나를 바라보는 그들 내면의 영혼과 교류하기 위해서...









이 생각과 앎이 공감이 가지 않는 환상으로 들린다면 한번 스스로 문을 두드려 보기 바란다. 남이 들려주는 여행이야기를 듣고 허구의 세상을 그리지 말고 스스로 체험적인 여행길에 나서 보라! 당신이 들었던 대부분의 진실은, 스스로의 체험으로 알지 못했던 이들이 자신도 전해들은 이야기를 전해 주었을 뿐이니까.









진리는 생각과 이론으로 이해되는 것이 아니다. 우리 인류는 심각한 기억 상실증에 걸려 있기에, 어렴풋한 기억과 연결되어 느껴지는 가슴의 공명으로 우리는 진실의 문을 열게 되는 것이다. 타인의 경험은 언제나 하나의 지식이라는 한계를 넘지 못한다. 내가 직접 눈으로 보고 몸으로 체험한 것만이 나의 지혜가 되고, 나의 진실이 될 수 있다.











스스로 문을 두드려라! 진리의 문은 두드릴 때에 열리기 때문이다!
