인터넷 서핑이 성인의 두뇌 능력을 향상시키는 데 도움이 된다는 연구결과가 나왔다.

19일 미국 로스앤젤레스타임스(LAT) 등은 로스앤젤레스 캘리포니아대학(UCLA) 연구진이 신경적으로 정상인 55∼78세 중·노년층 24명을 대상으로 인터넷 검색과 두뇌 능력간의 상관관계를 조사한 결과 이같이 나타났다고 보도했다.

연구진은 실험 대상자들이 인터넷 검색을 하는 동안 기능성 자기공명영상(fMRI)을 통해 두뇌 내부를 스캔 촬영했다. 그리고 2주간 하루 1시간씩 인터넷 검색을 시킨 뒤 똑같은 방법으로 두뇌 활동을 촬영했다.

첫번째 촬영에서 실험 대상자들은 언어, 독서, 기억, 시각능력을 관장하는 부위에서 두뇌 활동을 보여줬다. 2주일 뒤 다시 촬영한 결과에서는 같은 두뇌 부위뿐만 아니라 기억과 결정에 중요한 것으로 알려진 두뇌 전두엽 부위까지 활성화되는 것으로 관측됐다.

이에 대해 전문가들은 “두뇌 활동은 ‘쓰지 않으면 쇠퇴한다’는 원칙이 있는데, 이번 실험결과에서 이 원칙이 재확인됐다”고 평가했다.

연구를 주도한 게리 스몰 박사는 “인터넷 서핑을 거의 하지 않는 사람들은 1∼2주 정도만 검색을 해도 판단력을 관장하는 두뇌 활동이 활발해졌다”며 “이는 사람들이 인터넷을 하는 동안 많은 판단을 하기 때문이다”이라고 말했다. 하지만 스몰은 “인터넷 사용이 뇌 기능에 긍정적인 역할을 하는 것은 분명하지만, 인터넷 도박이나 쇼핑 등에 빠졌을 때는 도움이 되지 않는다”고 경고했다.

정부가 한미 FTA체결로 국내 제약 산업의 피해규모가 최고 8500억 원을 넘을 것이라는 연구 결과를 얻고도 이를 은폐한 것으로 밝혀졌다.

이는 19일 한국보건산업진흥원 국정감사에서 전혜숙 민주당 의원이 제출한 자료에 의해 드러났다.

국정감사 자료에 따르면 한미 FTA협상이 한창 진행 중이던 지난 2006년 식품의약품안전청이 의뢰해 진흥원이 수행한 ‘한-미 FTA에서의 식약청 대응방안 및 영향분석’ 연구 결과, 허가-특허 연계 시 국내 제약 산업의 피해규모는 5년 간 2449억 원에서 많게는 8595억 원에 이를 것으로 나타났다.

하지만 정부는 2001년 이후 진흥원이 수행한 연구용역 중 FTA관련 용역은 모두 대외비로 관리해 사실상 연구 자료를 은폐해 온 것으로 밝혀졌다.

의료기기 시장도 막대한 피해가 예상됐다. 연구용역 보고서에 따르면 양측이 관세를 철폐할 경우 5년간 3898억의 추가 무역수지 적자가 발생하고 우리 측 요구에 따른다 하더라도 5년간 961억의 손실이 발생할 것으로 추정됐다.

정부가 제출한 2010년 예산 설명자료에는 건강증진기금에서 지출되는 보건의료기술 연구개발(R&D)예산 중 순수 R&D 비용이라 할 수 있는 신산업 창출예산이 올해 624억 6000만 원에서 내년에 619억 5000만 원으로 5억 900만 원 줄었다.

전 의원은 “정부는 국민의 건강과 제약, 의료기기, 화장품 산업 등에 막대한 영향을 끼칠 수 있는 FTA 영향평가 자료를 모두 비밀로 한 채 R&D 예산마저 축소하는 등 오랜 기간 국민건강을 지켜온 산업을 고사 위기에 빠뜨리면서도 해외 환자 유치 사업이나 영리법인 허용을 신성장산업이라는 명목으로 ‘묻지마 식’으로 밀어붙이고 있다”고 강하게 비판했다.

지금 대한민국 전 국토 개천에 물이 거의 바닥 수준입니다 강원도부터해서 남해안에 이르기까지 읍면단위의 계곡에 물이 거의 말라버린 상태이며 올해 강우량이 적다보니 녹조현상이 심하고 그러다보니 수도물에 약물을 많이 투여하고 그것이 국민 건강에 해악을 끼치고 있으니 의료비 증가와 국가 복지비 증가가 우려됩니다 그러므로 4대강 사업은 충분한 검토속에서 향후 한국이 아열대 지방 강우량이 많아지는것을 대비해서 댐건설로 물 저장고는 만들어놓아야하나 이것이 4대강 사업과는 충분한 검토가 이루어져야 함 안그래도 지방 재정적자로 공무원들의 월급도 지방 세비로 해결못하고 있는 마당에 중앙 재정지원으로 국가 재정의 악순환 투자와 건설의 고리는 삼가해야 한다

북한의 물 수급 현황을 보아서 방류해주는 물의 양이 적으면 대한민국 국토의 물부족은 어려움을 겪게 될것이다

육영수 생가를 방문해서 참으로 예비된 영들을 만나고 나서 그리고 옥천군에 육영수 여사님의 정신이 아직도 살아있기에 훈훈했습니다 비록 경기가 어렵지만 지금 생가 공사가 마무리 단계에 접어들어가니 공사가 잘 마무리 되고 아울려 소방 시설을 잘 갖추어서 화재에 만전을 기해서 어렵게 공사한 생가 복원을 잘 마무리 완공되시기를 바랍니다

아울려 세종시 안건에 대한 박전대표의 입장을 정치권에서 요구하시는데 이 부분에 대한 입장은 함부로 언급할 단계가 아니다라고 봅니다

그것은 현정치권에서 해결될 문제도 아니거니와 그대들의 이해 득실로 처리될 문제가 아니기에 그만큼 정치권의 권한보다도 중요한 의미와 가치를 가지고 있기에 그래서 침묵으로 일관해가는것이고 세종시 안건은 그대들 정치권에서 손을 볼 사안이 않인 국가 중대사이기에 그렇게 알고 계시면 됩니다 다 시간이 지나가면 세종시 안건에 대한 결과가 훗날에 나타날것이니 지금 정치권에서 무리하게 결과를 요구하는것은 그들의 마지막 생존의 몸부림으로 보고 있기에 경거망동하지마시고

국회 의정 개혁 활동이나 내놓으시지요 국회의원수를 줄이고 지자체 시의원 수를 졸여서 주민지역 경제에 보탬이 되는 안들을 내놓으시지요 정작 자신들의 밥그릇을 줄이고 지역경제를 추락해가면서 침묵하는 그대들의 정신 상태 지켜볼것입니다 세종시 안건으로 국세를 낭비하지마시고 국력을 더이상 낭비하지않으시기를 바랍니다

소생이 이 대한민국을 이 한반도를 이 인류를 반드시 바로 세울것이고 그 길로 갈것이며 모든것이 준비되어있기에 죄악을 지어온 그대들의 명과 영들을 심판을 인류가 오대양 육대주가 보는 앞에서 당당하게 이 대한민국을 바로 세울것이고 이 한반도를 바로 세울것입니다 이 시간속에서 반성과 참회하지못해서 심판을 받지않도록 거듭 촉구하며 3대권력이라도 심판을 할 준비가 되어있으니 절대적인 신께서 엄중한 잣대로 대국적인 관점에서 일괄 처리 할것입니다

지난날처럼 정치권력 3대권력을 죄악을 되풀이해온것을 더는 용납하지않으며 국민들 역시 개과 천선못하면 더는 민족이고 국가이고 생존이 어려울것이니 아시아 통일을 위해서 성령의 구심축을 세우기위해서는 대한민국이 주도적으로 해갈것이며 대한민국이 이 한반도가 그렇게 하지못하면 생존이 불가능합니다 제2의 임진왜란 그 이상으로 단죄를 할것이니

최첨단 항공기ㆍ군수무기 핵심기능 수행

최첨단 항공기를 이용해 원거리에서 목표 지점을 향해 오차 없이 폭탄을 투하하기 위해서는 정확한 위치를 추정하고 비행고도와 속도를 고려해 정확한 투하시간을 결정해야 합니다. 이 핵심 업무를 수행하는 것이 바로 임베디드 소프트웨어(SW). 여기서는 군수무기 고도화를 주도하고 있는 국방ㆍ항공 분야의 융합 SW에 대해 살펴보겠습니다.


1980년대 이전까지만 해도 군사무기는 대부분 SW의 개념이 적은 기계장치 중심이었습니다. 그러나 1980년대 이후 F-16, F-22와 같은 전투기가 등장하고 다양한 기능이 지원되면서 SW의 역할이 점점 중요해졌습니다.

전투기용 임베디드 SW 개발시 코딩 라인수를 보더라도 1960년대 등장한 A-7D/E는 1만 라인에 불과했으나 AWACS 60만 라인, F-15E는 500만 라인, F-22는 1000만 라인 이상으로 늘어났습니다. 전투기의 전체 생산비에서 SW가 차지하는 가격 비중도 1960년대 F-4는 10%대에 불과했으나, 2000년대 들어 개발된 F-35는 45% 수준이며, 국내에서 개발된 T-50도 전체 비용의 35% 정도가 SW 비용입니다.

◇군수무기 고도화 핵심 역할=SW의 중요성은 점점 더 강조되고 있습니다. 보잉이나 록히드마틴 등 시장지배력이 높은 기업의 신규 항공기일수록 전투기 가격에서 차지하는 비중이 높고, 특히 무기 추가 탑재에 따른 SW 수정 비용도 상당한 수준입니다.

전투기 한 대만 구입한다면 전투기 임베디드 SW만 필요하지만 미사일과 폭탄을 추가로 구입할 경우 미사일과 폭탄의 임베디드 SW와 전투기에서 이를 제어하는 임베디드 SW가 필요합니다. 무장을 추가할수록 임베디드 SW 비용은 큰 폭으로 증가하게 됩니다.

현재 우리나라는 임베디드 SW 대부분을 수입에 의존하고 있습니다. 국방ㆍ항공 융합 SW 분야는 판매자가 외국 정부와 보잉, 록히드마틴 등 매우 제한돼 있고 기술 공유가 거의 이뤄지지 않아 판매자가 제시하는 가격을 따를 수밖에 없는 시장구조를 갖고 있습니다.

최신 항공기와 신무기들의 기능 대부분이 임베디드 SW로 통제되는데, 블랙박스로 돼 있는 경우가 많아 구매자는 가격 상승에 대한 이유를 알지 못한 채 판매자가 제시한 가격을 수용하는 실정입니다.

예를 들면 비행 훈련 시뮬레이터는 전투기 한 대를 팔 때 SW 1~2카피만을 판매하지만, 전투기에 폭탄을 추가로 장착해 이를 포함한 비행훈련이 필요할 경우 SW 수정 및 유지보수가 필수적입니다. 그런데 이러한 SW가 블랙박스로 돼 있어 구매국가는 판매자가 제시하는 가격을 따를 수밖에 없고 실제로 록히드마틴과 보잉은 이러한 방법으로 전투기 판매 후 시장까지 장악하고 있습니다. 해군의 잠수함, 육군의 전차 등에 탑재된 임베디드 SW도 사실상 100% 외산 제품을 사용하고 있습니다.

◇토종 업체들도 기술력 확보 총력=진입장벽이 매우 높은 분야지만 국산 업체들도 착실하게 기술력을 축적하고 있습니다.

한국항공우주산업(KAI), MDS테크놀로지 등이 공동 개발한 실시간운영체제(RTOS) `NEOS'개발 프로젝트가 대표적으로, 이 프로젝트가 성공함에 따라 초음속 항공기의 두뇌와 신경에 해당하는 핵심 시스템인 주컴퓨터(작전 수행을 위해 항공기 전체를 제어하는 중앙 컴퓨터)와 무장관리컴퓨터(무기사용을 제어하는 컴퓨터) 기술을 확보하게 됐습니다.

국산 비행 시뮬레이터 SW 개발사례도 있습니다. 항공기 시뮬레이터는 조종사가 실제 전투기에서 기총사격을 하고, 레이더를 가동하며 미사일을 쏘고 폭탄을 투하하는 비행훈련을 가상공간에서 가능하게 해줍니다. 도담시스템스는 2001년부터 2005년까지 비행 시뮬레이터 개발에 착수 풀 플라이트급(Full Flight) 시뮬레이터로는 국내 최초로 개발하는데 성공했습니다. 이 SW는 개선을 거듭해 폭탄 투하 시 항공기가 가벼워지는 느낌을 받을 정도로 상황 재현이 가능해졌고 이제는 조종사 비행시간으로 인정해줄 정도로 실제 비행 환경에 근접하게 설계돼 있습니다. 항공기 시뮬레이터는 미국에서 수입할 경우 대당 400억원 가량을 지급해야 하는 상황이었으나, 이를 국산화하면서 방위비를 크게 절감할 수 있게 됐습니다.

전문가들은 국내 자체 개발이 두 가지 큰 의미가 있다고 말합니다. 하나는 향후 국내 기술로 개발한 전투기를 수출할 때 SW 로열티를 낼 필요가 없어 가격 경쟁력을 높일 수 있고 다른 하나는 보잉, 록히드마틴과 가격협상을 할 수 있다는 점입니다.

그동안 전투기 한 대를 들여오면 25년 이상을 사용하며, 무장을 장착할 때마다 보잉과 록히드마틴이 제시한 SW 수정비용과 유지보수비용을 따를 수밖에 없었으나 국산 기술을 갖게 됨에 따라 상황이 개선될 것으로 기대됩니다. 실제 스미스 인더스트리얼은 항공기 기록장치를 한국 정부에 5만 달러에 팔려고 했으나 도담시스템스가 KF16-ADVR를 개발하자 가격을 2만 달러로 낮춘 사례가 있습니다.

"대멸종 운석 추락지점은 인도"

(서울=연합뉴스) 인도 근해에서 세계 최대의 운석공으로 보이는 해상 분지가 발견됐으며 만일 이것이 운석공으로 확인된다면 6천500만년 전 공룡을 멸종시킨 운석은 멕시코가 아닌 인도 부근에 떨어졌을 것이라는 새로운 연구가 나왔다고 사이언스 데일리가 보도했다.

미국 텍사스공대 연구진은 대대적인 석유ㆍ가스 개발이 진행 중인 인도 서부의 시바 분지를 자세히 조사한 결과 여러 겹의 고리로 둘러싸인 세계 최대의 운석공으로 보인다면서 이만한 구덩이를 만든 소행성은 지름이 40㎞ 정도였을 것이며 이로 인해 고유의 판구조가 생겼을 것이라고 주장했다.

이에 비해 공룡 대멸종을 야기한 것으로 흔히 생각되는 멕시코 유카탄 반도에 추락한 소행성의 지름은 8~10㎞로 추정된다.

연구진은 이 정도 크기의 소행성이 일으킨 지각변동은 상상하기도 어려운 것이지만 정말로 이런 소행성이 떨어졌다면 그 충격으로 지각이 증발했을 것이며 뜨거운 맨틀층의 물질이 솟구쳐 올라왔을 것이라고 말했다.

이들은 이 충격으로 인근 데칸 트랩의 화산 분출이 강화돼 인도 서부 지역 대부분을 뒤덮었을 것이며 인도판에서 세이셸 제도가 떨어져 나가 아프리카 쪽으로 밀려났을 가능성이 있다고 지적했다.

연구진은 시바분지의 바깥쪽 테두리는 지름 500㎞의 험준한 단층고리를 이루며 봄베이 고원으로 알려진 높이 약 5천m의 해저 산맥을 형성했지만 이 산맥으로 둘러싸인 운석공의 안쪽 대부분은 인도의 대륙붕 밑으로 가라앉았을 것이라고 추정했다.

그러나 가라앉지 않은 운석공의 흔적은 해안 지역의 높은 단애와 활성단층대 및 온천 등으로 나타나고 있다는 것이다.

연구진은 이 소행성 충돌로 인도 서부 해안에 분포한 두께 50㎞의 화강암층 대부분이 절단되거나 파괴됐을 것으로 보고 있다.

이들은 현지에서 암석을 채취해 각력암과 충격받은 석영, 이리듐이 있는지를 밝혀내 이 분지가 거대한 소행성 충돌로 생긴 것임을 입증할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

이 연구는 이달 중 오리건주 포틀랜드에서 열리는 미국지질학회 연례회의에서 발표될 계획이다.
